Councillor Keira Vyvyan Robinson, Cabinet Member for Projects said, “We are aware of the current concern around the future of the North Leatherhead Centre. We can confirm that the current bar licence holder has chosen not to continue operating from the North Leatherhead Community Centre from 1st February 2020. Mole Valley District Council is in the process of marketing it to find a new operator.
“Mole Valley District Council are only able to offer a short term licence for the running of the bar, due to restrictions governing use of the building. This may deter some potential licence applicants. The new operator will need a Premises Licence and will be subject to an application process involving input from the police around suitability of applicants.
“The Nursery and Foodbank remain on site operating as usual. It is only the bar’s operation that will cease on the 31st January 2020, until a new operator is in place.
“It is possible, that if a suitable operator cannot be identified by the end of January, there may be a short closure of the bar until one is found.
“If you would like to apply to be the new licence holder please contact us directly at Property@molevalley.gov.uk
