Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) has paid out 609 grants totalling £7.86m to local businesses eligible for the Small Business and Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grants in the first round of payments made this week. The funds will reach business accounts on Thursday 9th April.
The Small Business and Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grants launched by the government are designed to support businesses with their on-going costs during this unprecedented time. Last week MVDC sent a letter to all businesses eligible for the grants and began gathering the necessary details from them to start making payments.
Councillor Clayton Wellman, Cabinet Member for Sustainable Economy, said: “Delivering this essential boost to our local businesses is a priority for MVDC. Our staff have worked hard to get these grants to those in need as quickly as possible and will continue to do so.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank all our staff for all their ongoing efforts to support our businesses.
“Around 1,500 businesses in Mole Valley are eligible for one of these grants so if you have received a letter or believe you are eligible for either of these grants please complete our online form with your details so that we can continue to make payments in the weeks to come.
