Free Webinars and One-to-One Support for Businesses

Mole Valley District Council is pleased to be partnering with the Retail Group to deliver a series of three free webinars and one-to-one support sessions to help support the district’s independent town centre businesses as our high streets re-open.

Non-essential retail businesses have started to reopen since Monday 15 June 2020, in line with the government’s decision to ease lockdown measures in place in England. Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) wants to support all businesses at this time and has partnered with retail and consumer management consultants, the Retail Group, to offer a Business Recovery Support programme.

The 50 minute webinars on offer will provide businesses the information they need in order to set up to trade effectively again, whilst providing a safe environment for customers and staff. They will happen on three consecutive Thursdays, covering three key themes:

  • 18 June at 10am: Helping Businesses to Recover and Thrive
  • 25 June at 8am: Reviewing your Business and Creating your Future Trading Plan
  • 2 July at 8am: Growing your Business in the New Normal

If businesses are unable to attend any of the above webinars, please email to request this link to watch them at any time.

The Retail Group will also be offering free one-to-one support sessions to businesses after the date of the first webinar on 18 June. This will be offered on a first come, first served basis. More information will be provided at the first webinar. Please email to apply to receive this additional support.

Councillor Clayton Wellman, Cabinet Member for Sustainable Economy, said: “We are really pleased to be able to offer this package of support in partnership with the Retail Group. We want to offer as much quality advice as we can to help our businesses through this period and out the other side. Being able to re-open from 15 June is a big step forward in the recovery process and we want to ensure businesses have all the information they need to keep their customers and staff safe when they do.”
