Leader of Mole Valley District Council, Councillor Stephen Cooksey said, “I am pleased to announce that we have now started to reopen our playgrounds throughout the district. There are signs at every playground with guidance to ensure everyone can play safely. We ask that you please take all reasonable precautions and follow all the guidance provided. As the schools break up this week please do remind everyone in your family to use the bins provided in outdoor spaces and if these are full to take their rubbish home, this will help keep our parks and open spaces clean.
“Yesterday we launched our new Mole Valley Together website, packed with details of how you can support your local businesses by shopping local and travelling easily into our town and village centres. We are celebrating the wonderful community spirit in Mole Valley with #molevalleytogether, do join us by using #molevalleytogether in your own social media posts about the district.
“Our new ‘Monster Hero Safari’, supporting the NHS and our High Streets is aimed at encouraging families back to the shops and local centres. See our news website for more details about how you can spot the Monster Heroes in shop windows across Mole Valley.
“We are currently continuing to contact businesses who are entitled, but have yet to receive a government grant via the Discretionary Grants scheme. Whilst so many of you have come forward, we are aware that some businesses still have not, so we will be launching a second round of this for application in the coming weeks.
“Finally, please do remember to wear your face coverings in the shops from Friday this week. Our re-opened businesses have been working so hard to follow safety procedures for everybody else, now it’s time to play our part when out shopping.”
